Kolomenskoye

Museum-reserve Kolomenskoye is one of the most picturesque and popular places in Moscow. For the first time Kolomenskoye village was mentioned in the letter of knyaz (prince) Ivan Kalita. Since the 14-th century Kolomenskoye village became the country residence of the Great Moscow princes and later of Russian tsars. The museum collections are various and unique, they include rare old printed editions, white stone carving collection, one of the best collections of architectural ceramics and Russian stove tile.
