Armory Chamber was the first museum in Moscow. In ancient times the Kremlin workshop where armor and weapons were produced was called Armory Chamber. With the flow of time it became the real Russian treasury, where war trophies, tsar regalia and church plates are exhibited.
The Armory Chamber collection also comprises the Russian Diamond Fund. The unique treasures of state diamond collection are exhibited here. Among the exhibits you can see the big emperor's crown of gold and silver, decorated with diamonds and pearls, made specially for the crowning ceremony of Ekaterina II. The famous gigantic “Orlov” and “Shah” diamonds are here too. Also the exhibition represents a collection of Yakut diamonds as well as masterpieces of modern jeweler art.
