Suzdal

Suzdal is one of the most beautiful Russian towns. It is about 1,000 years old. The first mentioning of Suzdal is dated by 1024. Suzdal is a very special place because of numerous historical monuments; the town looks really antique with its Old Russian style architecture and is referred as a museum in the open air. The main tourist sights are: the Kremlin, defensive walls above the Kamenka river, Pokrovsky monastery, former Spaso-Yevfimiyev monastery, Museum of wooden architecture, peasant household complex, churches of the XVIII-th centuries and Gostiny Dvor (dated by 1811).
